Continuous Improvement Manager (ID. 104)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assess operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in productivity and yield, and determine where new/better standards and processes can close identified gaps
  • Design, lead and conduct kaizen events and blitzes on the shop floor, in collaboration with operations leaders, to implement 5-S, improve product/process flow, reduce minor stops, and increase mean time between failures  
  • Be a champion of problem-solving/root cause elimination, applying corrective action tools (problem definition, Why-Why) and countermeasures such that recurrence is not possible
  • Provide leadership in the creation of systems to support achievement of the compelling business need including standard creation and documentation of productivity and standard work processes and other programs as required
  • Conduct health checks (audits) of systems and processes, including 5-S, systems execution, safety, quality, and daily direction setting 
  • Use focused improvement (FI) tools such as work process analysis (WPA) and work process improvement (WPI) to improve processes and maximize the use of resources
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA rules and regulations. (THINK SAFETY FIRST) 
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc. 
  • Implement projects, which reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, or increase efficiencies, which support overall plant objectives
  • Facilitate project team meetings to ensure team member accountability and project deadline are met 
  •  Coach employees on implementation of project deliverables 
  • Track project cost savings (CFI Cost Reductions) 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or other STEM disciplines or business management/analytics.
  • Three to Five years of experience in manufacturing operations 
  •  3+ years of previous experience in continuous improvement
  • Previous Project management experience preferred
  • Six Sigma, Brown or Black belt qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong planning, project, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to gather and process manufacturing loss information, including data and observations from numerous sources – bills of materials, routers, operations metrics, data collection and analyses – experience with NAV or like.
  • Corrective and preventive action skills
  • Microsoft Office skills – PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Initiative – Must be a self-starter
  • Ability to coordinate several projects at once while supporting the business units and CPS deployment
  • Flexible Schedule; At times, may need to work on the off shifts or weekends
